Our puppies are getting bigger. About 2 lbs gained this week. Today’s update was late. I went to my niece’s birthday that I didn’t know about till last minute. So bare with me, as I have received e-mails wanting to see photos.
Unfortunately last week we had one of our girls get stepped on by her mommy. In the process she ruptured her eye. So we’ve been in and out of the vet for treatment. The bad news, is most likely she will loose her eye. We are looking for a special home for her, and one that I hope will be a therapy dog for hospitals. Hopefully her event will be a blessing to others. Other than that setback, all the puppies are healthy. Last week we put photos up on their 2 week update.
Week 3 Milestones
They are getting cuter day by day. This week they are excelling at walking. They are beginning to run, however awkwardly. They are now going potty on their own without the aid of Tina. Mom’s generally lick them the first two weeks of life to help them urinate and poop. Their coats are getting longer. They are becoming more vocal. Their howls and barks are sounding more and more like a real bark.
Day 16 they started to hear. We noticed because when I woke up in the morning they were all howling at each other. One would howl, and then another, and another. They now realize their playmates, nibble on each others ears, and play in their infantile way.
Their claws are getting bigger, and due for a trim. Next week they will get their first bath. So they are dirty in their photos below.
